There's some interesting things I've observed while (sorta) trying to see if I can pass this test - getting the principle out the way was more than easy.

First of all I used to be pretty much the only one wandering around Egypt during Shroom Pickin Time. (thats from Ass O'Clock in the Morning to the Butt Crack of Dawn for those that dunno) Now its like hordes of peeps out there all shouting and hollaring on guild, regional and Egypt-wide chat about what shroomz are found where and who needs what and what all.

I suppose I'm happy for the company and all, but this test is frustrating.

I could speculate that Teppy fooled around with the shroom spawning code, cuz as you well know, I'm a shroom pickin EXPERT - and the usual places that yer supposed to find certain types of shrooms - well they don't seem to spawn there anymore.

On the upside in the (new?) places they spawn, they seem to overkill-spawnage and there's usually plenty around. Which is good news for ME cuz I'm doing double duty. Like before this test came along, I was looking for the shrooms that I need for Botanical ID tuition.

So now I get to run around and when I find a buncha shrooms, even if I need to eat some, and if they're the sort I need for Bot ID, I can still snag a few for that.

But still. I sorta miss my solitary sleep-shrooming forays. Ah wells.

For those of you waiting with bated breath to find out Whut I Been Up To in ATITD:
This post is for YOU!

I just turned Level 27. Woot yay hip hip hooray. LOLL
Just in case you dint know: I'm still not a fan of the newly installed level system in Tale. They keep me and everyone else from following and focusing on the paths and disciplines we are interested in, cuz we gotta have certain levels in order to do that.

So we meander along and do stuff we aren't particularly interested in, just so we can snag a few levels so we CAN access the stuff we like. *sighs*

And when I spoke to The Pharaoh himself, Andrew "Teppy" Tepper, CEO and creator of ATITD, he pretty much said he's keeping levels in for the the next Telling. His original premise for adding levels in (there were none in Tale 1 and 2), was to appeal to a broader gaming audience. Those folks used to levels etc.

Funny thing is, and I've seen it time and time again, those people are still confused as heck and don't like ATITD that much. Its still a very open ended, sand boxy type application like Esselle, and there's no PVP and nary a NPC in sight to boot.

Sorry Teppy. But levels do nothing but aggravate those of us who gravitated to the game BECAUSE it originally had no levels; and confuses those that are used to levels as a more integral feature and different meaning to overall gameplay etc.

First. He got the bomb ass name and I keep forgettin to ask him if it means anything in particular but that dont matter cuz its simply weh cool even if it dont mean anything at all

Second he's one them (brave? silly? estoopid? crazee?) folk who lives near a volcano

Personally, I'm weh too chicken. I can just see myself tryin to outrun lava in my hoochie shooz. (but... uhh Jene/Brace why yoo runnin from lava in hi heelz? umm duuuuh! I gotsta look GOOD no matter WHAT the sich is, neh?)

Since Esselle (po chile) is pretty much a buncha rabbit hraka (oooh hint!)

I decided to call up the folk at ATITD and do a switcheroo with my accounts there.

So I ditched lil noob Isetnofret and Teh Teppy and thems dusted off Jenefre and I'm back scurrying around A Tale In The Desert on my OG account whenever I get the chance.

I stashed what I could of my zillions of onions and cabbages at the Hedons of Egypt compound in Upper Egypt, grabbed a few essentials (but pretty much starting from scratch in terms of STUFF) and took off to Seven Lakes where Iset had been hangin.

Ok I'm recovered. Sorta. LOLOLL omggg

What had happen was..

Ok lemme break it down for those non-ATITD BBRCs. Ok see the thingy to the far right of the pic? It MIGHT look familiar cuz Treppy build us one way back. Its a Raeli Oven, and it makes Raeli Tiles. Which are thingies used in several types of builds for tests and stuff.

Well see our dear friend Zaniac had (like myself) taken a loooong vaycay from ATITD, and his ovens had built up like a TON of tiles. So he alerted everyone to the fact when he popped in, and of course folks wanted to snag on some of the excess tiles.

Me myself, I needed to do a couple things with a Raeli Oven, to complete certain steps in some principles/tests I'm considering taking on. I had originally wanted to build my own oven, but since Trep had done it last time, I had NO CLUE how much drama it was to build one. When I read all that on the wiki I was like daaang ok not gonna do THAT!

But thats only an optional thing, and all I needed in order to complete my stuff, was to start an oven dredging clay for tiles, and interrupt the baking process. So I hauled booty to the other side of my Itty Bitty Lake where Zaniac was, cuz he said I could do those things to his oven :)

Lill the FABU Guild Elder in Egyptian Life guild (my only guild now cept the Itty Bitty Lake one I made for myself) also wanted some tiles for her projects, and others, so we both were there.

Now comes the crackup part.

I don't know Zaniac so well, so I wont comment on his state of being RL, but lets just say it contributed to the fun :D

So when the tiles had baked to the color that was needed, I got to stop the process and all that and get my jots and tittles on my tests. Now on most items, that have been working on stuff, including the ovens, you get two options when yer ready to snag stuff from them:

You can grab EVERYTHING or you can grab a certain amount, by typing in a number or whatever. Well Zaniac grabbed the whole shebang by accident and ended up with 800 ZILLION tiles in his pack or inventory if you will.

Despite being buffed up on Sooper Dooper (stat raising) food, that was just still weh too much! As I splained before, when you hit ya limit on what you can carry - yer assed out and cant move until you drop stuff.

So there was Zan, stuck in the mud and couldn't move a muscle. Weighted down by raeli tiles! I pretty much was NO help at all and just fell out laffin.

Lill bless her Angelic Heart, ran to get supplied to build CHESTS so Zan could toss his excess tiles into them and be able to move again.

Hence the picture.

Thats Lill coming to the rescue and building chests, thats Zan stuck inside the one chest he was able to build - wasn't enuff tho LOL - and thats me just standing there snapping pics, and laffin till I cried.

Oh yeah and I guess I'm busted - thats my new account: Isetnofret. I was told mebbe I could blend the two somehow and either get my Jenefre account back now and whatever. I love this game. There's so much flexibility and all you gotta to is contact a GM or even Teppy and stuff gets done :)

I'll think about it. I'm enjoying being a "noobie" again, and re-learning all the stuff I forgot, and trying the things I dint get a chance to do before. Like wine making :) I have a vineyard goin on now and three barrels of "No Fret" vintages fermenting as we speak. Fun!

Ok well I have to confess something. This is also sort of a lil update on my continuing adventures in ATITD (A Tale in the Desert). I'm not proud of what I did... but well lemme just get it off my chest...

Ok for those BBRCs not familiar with cool stuff to do, I'll break down some info first, so you can get the basic premise of the sich.

One of my fave things to do there is to go Shrooming. And also to go Herbing. At certain times of the Egypt (game) night - basically between Ass O'Clock in the Morning and the Butt Crack of Dawn - certain species of mushrooms spawn in certain regions and areas of Egypt. And you can go running around pickin em: Shrooming.

And pretty much all the time and when and where evah herbs spawn as well. And you can use the coolio foraging guide on the ATITD wiki on how to pick em correctly. Unlike Shrooming, Foraging for herbs is a skill you gotta learn at one of the Schools or Universities.

Ok we cool so far? Good.

Now for pretty much every plant or tree in Egypt, theres a click menu on em. You can click on an interesting plant and it gives you the name of it. For herbs it also gives you the option to forage it, if you've learned the skill.

For trees and shrooms it gives you an option to snag wood, or snag the shroom up from the ground. Since I've been playing Tale for over a year now, I'm pretty good at spotting herbs by sight, and knowing the difference between those, and other plants growing around.

So when I see a plant that looks a bit different, I'm gonna click on it, to see if I can forage it, if its an herb, or get to know it, if its a "game plant".

Now for the shameful thing I did... *sniffles a bit*

The other day I was running around in Tale, herbing and shrooming and having a jolly ole time of it. When all of a sudden I see this interesting plant! It dint look like any herb I was familiar with, or any of the game plants either.

I was elated!! A new herb!! (there had been some additions to the herb data base since I'd stopped playing for a few months, and I figured this was one of those).

So I click on it to see whats what.

I get this information: A Dusty Old Weed
And also I get this option: Examine this plant

Now I was thinking, oh well just another game plant that I haven't come across, or maybe was added in since I was outtie. Usually when you examine a game plant, it doesnt tell you much. It says: "if you had a higher skill in something or other, you might be able to find a use for it."

Now for those that dunno, this game is a Tale indeed: a Story. It has a beginning, middle and it for sure ENDS. Then we all start over on the NEXT Tale. We are currently in the middle-ish towards the end-ish of the Third Telling, or Tale 3 or T3.

So things progress as the Tale goes along, and skills and stuff to learn are unlocked, and made available, as we prove ourselves worthy to have that happen. Well I prolly shoulda been thinking about all that, as I clicked on the Examine This Plant option on that dusty old weed.

But I wasn't.

The next thing that happened was really awful....

I get a message that politely informed me, and I'll paraphrase here:

"Umm chica.. with your hamhanded actions, and total lackage of the Botanical skill, you MIGHT have had something there, but instead you KILLED OFF this delicate weed. Ooop OH WELL. Git the hell along you MURDEROUS thing you!"

I felt like dying I tells ya...

And also I was a tad bit MIFFED as all of sudden this dusty ole weed had seemed to be a Delicate Weed outta nowhere. I mean if it had SAID it was delicate... mebbe I wouldn't have Examined it... or mebbe I would have.. but SHEESH!!
