LL Dissin Again

Ok

I WAS gonna do a random SL pics for my next post.

But THEN

LL had to go and disgruntle me again.
So I'll smooch two birds with the same lips and toss my pics inbetween gettin yall the INFO that you NEED TO KNOW.

First: A Deathlist to get things started (ie stuff LL took away from us)

1. Paying Instructors for teaching classes
2. Live Help
3. Linden Answers section on the forums
the list DOES go ON, but I hit the highlights:
basically LL withdrawing help and support to/for/about IN GAME education/educators.

Now some folk were puzzled at LL's actions.
I mean Second Life has a tremendously high learning curve - wouldn't SUPPORTING THOSE RESIDENTS AND COMMUNITIES THAT HELP PEOPLE LEARN be umm the way to go?

Doesn't helping people understand SL = customers who STICK?
yes and omfg YES.

But as we well know, LL don't operate on common sense. Hey M lindie ya listening????

So basically they had this (quite masturbatory if you ask me) podcast about "Education/Educators" in SL. Check it Here and the transcript is pdf is HERE.

I skimmed the transcript and this is what I figured out:

Linden Lab ditched all the in game help in order to groom their so-called education lindies to kiss butt REAL WORLD educators/universities/communities into SL.

Thas all well and GOOD. But they seem to have FORGOTTEN one VERY VITAL thing.

WHO the heck is gonna TEACH all these people how to actually USE SL for their particular goals for their particular whatever it is they wanna have goin on?

Correct me if I'm wrong - but the NEW CITIZENS INC does that sort of thing for RL folks/companies/communities AND education institutions all the dang time - past present AND future too.

But.
NOT ONE mention of the hard working residents who educate the educators.

I have stopped cussin on my blog. But ok I just caint....

I've been having a very Fuck You Linden Labs week.

[In case you've forgotten, my context is that I'm a teacher bringing a group of inner city kids into Teen Second Life, and we have had loads of problems]

Is there seriously no technical support hotline? No way to get someone on the phone? I've submitted multiple tickets and they've stopped even responding.

But I WILL help you with some names. Dunno if all of em are still around doing whut they used to do. But its worth sending out some IMs

Blue Linden - he's the dude who's lookin after the Teen Grid
Teeple Linden - he kicks MUCH ass in terms of helpin when sims go down etc
Harry Linden - he's got HEART and listens
Kona Linden - bug fixer dude. Tell him Brace Coral sent ya with a *blowkiss*

You could point them towards yer ticket numbers in ya IMs - might help, dunno
customer service is not a LL strong point.

But seeing as they all congratulatory and in self-back-patting over their so-called "Education" whatevers - maybe the timing is right to light some fires under some derierres.
